When we first got our hands on the shop truck, it was a mess to say the least. The engine would not stay running, the engine bay had a nest of wires running every which way and the truck was not drivable, especially as a decent shop truck. Many man hours later with a lot of wiring and a new engine, the truck was finally up to par for the shop truck we were looking for.
Once the mechanicals of the truck were all up and running we started to add on, as well as develop, parts for it. The shop truck became the perfect test vehicle for all of the parts we have been developing. Everything from spark plug wires to a 3 inch downpipe and the BatMoWheel equipped turbo. All of our new products are tested on the shop truck first to ensure the best possible product for our customers, as well as our own trucks.
After all the additional Sportmachines products being added on the truck we decided it needed to stand out from all of the other white/white Typhoons. First we started with a custom camo wrap with red, black and silver from the guys over at Stickerbomb. The wrap looked great but the truck was still missing something, wheels. So we got rid of the TSM wheels that were on the truck and went with the f40 style 3SDM 0.05 wheels with an offset to fit the truck properly.
The truck has turned out to be a blast and will continue to be adjusted with more new parts as we develop them.
Update March 2015: The shop truck has been on the lift getting several much needed updates to continue testing our new products and their performance in daily driving. The hope is to get the truck all buttoned up and head to the dyno within the next month to have power numbers in hand. More updates to come soon in our blog section.
Update July 2015: The shop truck was featured on a local youtube channel as July's Car of the month on Rochester Street Scene. Link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gBpirOyUUI
